About the owner

Hey there. My name is Harrison Beckwith and I am the owner of River Wizard Company, LLC. I was born and raised in Clemson, SC and grew up fishing and hunting on the lakes and rivers of upstate South Carolina and the North Carolina mountains. I graduated from Clemson University in 2012 with a degree in Biological Sciences and was on the path to medical school, but my love for the outdoors grew into a passionate career. While attending Clemson, I worked as a fly fishing guide for Brookings Anglers in Cashiers, NC and ultimately took a leap of faith after graduating to guide full time. I spent 11 years with Brookings and was able to refine my guiding and teaching practices on the waterways of the Carolina’s and became a licensed captain through the U.S. Coast Guard. I was fortunate to expand my knowledge through leading groups of anglers on destination travel to Argentina and the Bahamas. During my time on the water with customers and traveling I developed a craft in photography which opened the door to many new opportunities in the outdoor industry. River Wizard Co. was created in October 2019 with the help of my good friend and creative mind, Andrew Julian. Andrew is a talented photographer and collaborated with me on many of the projects in the portfolio seen on this site. Many of which include curating images for publications and brands in the outdoor space. I left behind guiding and free lance photography in the Carolinas in 2021 to pursue a marketing and sales position with Barker Boatworks in Sarasota, FL, and returned to Clemson in 2023 where I currently serve as the Director of Outdoor Pursuits for Old Edwards Reserve at Lake Keowee.
